Lightyear is a simple and approachable way to invest your money globally without unnecessary barriers or fees. Founded in October 2020 by Martin Sokk and Mihkel Aamer, both early Wise (formerly TransferWise) employees, Lightyear has offices in London, UK and Tallinn, Estonia.

It’s backed by Mosaic Ventures, Taavet Hinrikus of Wise, Jaan Tallinn of Skype & Sten Tamkivi of Teleport. Other investors include Wander Rutgers of Robinhood UK, Ott Kaukver of checkout.com and Kaarel Kotkas of Veriff.

Lightyear marries multi-currency accounts with unlimited access to global markets so customers can invest freely without hidden fees or charges. Our team joined Lightyear from some of the biggest names in fintech, including Wise, Revolut, Plum and Robinhood.
