Adrian is Deputy Director in Treasury Legal Advisers, leading the Banking and Trade team, with responsibility for matters including, financial stability, consumer protection, the financial services regulatory perimeter, advising on future trade deals, and the UK’s financial services’ regulatory architecture.
Before training as a lawyer Adrian gained a Ph.D. in constitutional law. Since qualification, Adrian has worked across a number of public bodies, including Ofwat and HM Treasury. Consistent themes in this work have included advising on price setting in a regulated industry, state interventions in UK businesses and markets, consumer protection, and setting/developing an appropriate regulatory architecture balancing, amongst various matters, the need to develop innovation and protect consumers.
