Conan French

Senior Advisor, Digital Finance Institute of International Finance (IIF)

The IIF is the global research and advocacy association for the financial industry with more than 400 members from 70+ countries. Conan advises the IIF on new technologies in finance and the innovation they are driving in banking, payments, insurance, and asset management. He tracks developments in blockchain, quantum, machine learning/AI, and other data technologies to identify key issues for the industry. Research, meetings, and events on these topics provide financial service industry leadership and regulators with a better understanding of the opportunities and implications. 2015 Conan helped create the IIF RegTech initiative to draw attention to the potential for new technologies to solve regulatory and compliance challenges more effectively and efficiently.

Conan has experience working on innovation in finance from both the private and public sector. He has launched mobile payment ventures including co-founding OnGo Asia and Open Revolution. Earlier experience in his career included work at the Department of State USAID, and US Treasury Department. Conan earned his MBA from Georgetown University and his BA in history and economics from Dickinson College. While at USAID, he was the US Representative on the Council of Governors for the World Bank’s CGAP.
