Denisse has over 15 years delivering financial crime prevention, anti-money laundering, and counter-terrorist financing systems & controls across banking and public sectors, including as Head of AML/CFT Policy for RBS (CBD). She has experience working with many top-tier financial institutions,, is Director of the G7 and G20 Research Groups (London), co-founder of ElementaryB, member of the WEF’s Coalition to Fight Financial Crime, and Senior Advisor to RegTech, FinTech and crypto / virtual assets firms, and The Sentry. Denisse launched and co-led the first global AML/CFT Working Group for crypto firms and is a member of the Joint Working Group on interVASP messaging standards. Denisse is also an author, trainer, speaker and panellist at industry events and mentor to start-ups.

What is it about FinTech that excites you?

The ability to make the world a better place through innovation, particularly for society on the financial crime prevention side and on the ESG front.

What do you envisage being the biggest development in FinTech in the next 5 years?

The development of sustainable digital finance solutions and wholesale adoption of blockchain technology to promote transparency (I hope)

What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?

Working out (Zumba!), reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends

What is the biggest change that you have witnessed in the sector over the past 12 months?

Unfortunately, promising companies with incredible solutions and products folding due to lack of funding, long sales cycles and economic uncertainty
