International research will identify priorities for growth of UK FinTech

Innovate Finance and the City of London Corporation have embarked on a programme of international research to look at the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Fintech ecosystem, thereby identifying the opportunities for UK FinTech in the context of global growth. Produced by consultancy EY, this piece of work will focus on a number of key areas researching international markets, looking at skills and talent, capital and investment, regulation, and national growth and connectivity.

With Brexit on the horizon, this is an important juncture for the UK FinTech sector. Around the world, governments and financial services centres are positioning themselves as leading FinTech hubs and are developing a broad range of strategic policies to encourage growth. This research will explore the key factors that influence this competitiveness, and inform the work of Innovate Finance, City of London Corporation and others in the sector, delivering key findings to industry, regulators and government.

The research is due to be completed in early February. We want to draw on the experiences and expertise of businesses across the sector and are inviting expressions of interest from FinTechs who have significant experience of international markets to participate in interviews and workshops in January.
