Meet Mark, from our Product team

Working together with all the teams across Tide, the Product team works hard to bring new features to our members. We’d love for you to meet the people that make the Product team – here’s Mark.
Hey Mark! Introduce yourself in a sentence.
Hi, I’m the Product Manager for Tide’s onboarding journey. In other words, I’m focussed on ensuring the process of opening a business current account is as quick and simple as possible for our members.
What’s your background?
I’ve been a product manager for 5 years, previously helping small businesses get a tailored quote for their business insurance.
How did you cross paths with Tide?
I was headhunted and it sounded right up my street! Not only was it helping small businesses, it was working on the onboarding journey which matched my experience.
What’s your typical working day?
I like hearing how members use our product and the ideas they have to make it better. There’s no typical day in product but, broadly speaking, my day covers the following; listening to our members, finding creative solutions, looking at the data, and putting it all together by working with design, technology, marketing and compliance.
What’s your favourite Tide feature?
You can do everything from your sofa – just whip out your iPhone or Android and get a business current account in minutes, leaving you more time for the important stuff!
What’s the most interesting challenge you’ve came across since you joined Tide?
Tide has so many great social activities, from pizza lunch & learns to evenings watching Game of Thrones, so the hardest challenge is choosing which one to say no to, when you should be going to the gym ️♂️
What do you like most about working at Tide?
It’s an overused phrase but I’ll say it because it’s true; it’s the people. Tide has a culture of putting small businesses at the heart of decision making, which means there’s a great comradery around that shared mission.
What are you most excited about this year at Tide?
I can’t say too much, but we have big expansion plans brewing at Tide so watch this space !
What’s your hidden talent?
I study quantum physics in my spare time, so either that or making great french toast.
When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?
