- AI continues to dominate the investment market globally, and the UK is the clear third largest market on AI just behind the United States and China.
- UK capital markets welcomed the first headline PISCES transaction, an $85m employee stock secondary deal for Wayve, the UK self-drive start-up company.
- The cautious recovery in FinTech investment in the 2nd half of 2025 has been slowed by large investment in AI.
- Global FinTech investment in H1 2026 fell 12% to $28.6bn across 1,411 deals, compared to $32.5bn in H2 2025.
- UK funding declined only 5% to $1.8bn, from $1.9bn in H2 2025, maintaining #2 place in global FinTech investment, ahead of India in third position with $1.6bn, and the US in first position with $17.2bn, still the largest global market.
- The UK remains #1 in Europe, with European investment totalling $5bn across 509 deals (including the UK). The gap between the UK and the rest of Europe continues to narrow.
