Since its inception, the Digital Pound Foundation has
Collaborated on UK Policy Development: Contributing to public consultations, calls for evidence, and whitepapers on the development and introduction of CBDCs, stablecoins, and e-money - providing UK regulators and policymakers with expert insights from the private sector.
Published Research and Insights: Publishing reports exploring the design, implementation, and societal impact of a digital Pound, highlighting the role of emerging technologies such as blockchain in enabling unprecedented use cases and efficiencies.
Promoted Financial Education:Launching several initiatives to enhance public understanding of digital currencies and their potential benefits, working with partners such as the University of Manchester to encourage debate on the ethical and environmental aspects of digital money.
Hosted Thought Leadership Events: From in-person roundtables and workshops hosted for and on behalf of UK regulators and policymakers, to in-person conferences and online webinars engaging government, industry stakeholders, academics, and the public.
The Digital Pound Foundation with the support of Innovate Finance continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital money in the UK. As the Bank of England and HM Treasury move closer to decisions on the implementation of a digital Pound, introducing a UK framework for stablecoin, and implementing the UK’s National Payments Vision, the Foundation remains committed to ensuring that the UK is a leading centre for innovation that supports a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable economy.
