COVID-19 has changed habits and ways of transacting within the payments industry. Coronavirus is encouraging businesses to move to contactless, online and digital payments. Recently, it was announced that more than 7.4m people in the UK live an “almost cashless” life, a number which has doubled in 2 years and is expected to grow rapidly in the UK and globally. In Asia, the value of non-cash transactions is projected to grow by a whopping 266% from US$96.2 billion in 2017 to US$352.8 billion by 2022.

How will this impact cash access and distribution? How will the “new normal” impact customer behaviour and drive digital innovation? What is the outlook for the payments industry?
