Damien Shieber

Damien has a strong belief that where a person started off in life should never act as a barrier to their opportunities. Growing up in inner-city Birmingham and the first in his family to work in Financial Services, he brings his lived experience to act on creating a fair playing field of opportunity for everyone – and making the most of talent, from all backgrounds.
He remembers his first job well and, to ‘fit in’, being asked to do vocal coaching due to his West Midlands accent for ‘polish’. That moment mattered. He knows well that hiding part of yourself is exhausting. In 2022, Damien was named as a Top 10 Inspirational Leader in the British LGBT Awards through being a visible role model to champion inclusion and influence positive change and is currently Head of Culture and Experience at Santander UK.
