Evelina is a software engineer and technical founder on a mission to build products that make peoples' lives better. She is one of the three co-founders and Chief Technology Officer at Toucan.

Toucan is building a range of digital tools to help financial providers better support users who find themselves in vulnerable circumstances, either as a result of a mental health problem, temporary bereavement or fraud/scams.

Toucan is a user-first company with strong user research and product design expertise. The team is made of designers and developers that put empathy first, with 40+ combined years of experience building products in companies like Monzo, Funding Options, Zopa, and Deliveroo.

Evelina feels inspired in her mission by the stories surfaced in customer research and by her hardships growing up in post-Communist Romania where she suffered from financial difficulties and family bereavement.

Before starting Toucan, Evelina has worked mostly in the start-up world for the last twelve years, in different areas like telecommunications, finance, retail and consumer products.

She loves the fast-paced world of technology startups with high learning curves and short feedback loops which allows her to solve problems and experience progress day by day.
